Biography

Sergio Hernández (Valencia, 1994) is a writer and screenwriter. He holds a degree in Hispanic Philology from the University of Valencia and a screenwriting diploma from the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome.

In 2015, he published 365 primeras citas (Alupa Editorial), the same year he began writing scripts for various radio programs for Plaza Radio and Play Radio Valencia. A few months later, he made the leap to audiovisual storytelling, adapting his work into a short film format for RTVE. In 2019, he published La última canción de primavera (OléLibros), receiving fantastic acclaim from critics and filmmakers such as Isabel Coixet.

In 2020, together with artist Toni Caballero, he published Backhome (Planeta Cómic), a fast-paced thriller that originated in the pages of Planeta Manga and has since been translated into Italian and French. Just a year later, the duo won the Diafebús Prize for Young Adult Fiction for their work El Diari de Laia (Drassana), which quickly became a hit among Generation Z readers in Valencia.

In 2023 and 2024, he released Hysteria (Planeta Cómic) alongside artist Lolita Aldea and adapted Richard Matheson’s iconic novel I Am Legend into a graphic novel for Planeta Cómic.

In September of that same year, he published his first novel, La letra herida (Contraluz).
