Biography
Born in 1994, Furo discovered the world of manga… with a controller in his hand. It was Dragon Ball Budokai 2 on PS2 that opened the doors to a world he never knew existed. While researching, he found that the story existed in print, with Goku beginning his story as a child, everything in black and white, and above all… an extraordinary dynamism. This visual and narrative revelation would stay with him forever.
Between detours, a CAP in stonemasonry, and studies in video games, manga always came knocking at his door. A long-time self-taught artist, Furo then enrolled at the Human Academy in Angoulême in 2017, a Franco-Japanese school where he learned alongside seasoned illustrators and mangaka. There, he refined his style, produced a series of short stories, and presented several projects to Japanese publishers. As a finalist in the Mangaka Challenge organized by Kana in 2023, he gained visibility, and following a second meeting with Kana at the FIBD 2024, a collaboration with Kana began, and he now contributes to Manga Issho magazine.
His inspirations range from energetic and passionate sports manga (Slam Dunk, Eyeshield 21) to more profound and realistic stories (Monster, Solanin, A Silent Voice, Nana), as well as cinema and video games, which feed into his storytelling and staging.
Today, Furo seeks to tell stories that are sincere, emotional, sometimes dramatic, always close to real life, sometimes with the smell of gasoline in the background, driven by his passion for cars, passed down to him by his father since childhood.
