The 2025 edition of Lucca Comics & Games marked an extraordinary success for Manga Issho, the first European manga magazine. The event saw a massive success, with a huge number of people coming to meet the magazine’s authors. The artists were thrilled to dedicate their time to readers, signing numerous autographs and producing sketches, confirming the strong bond with the community and the enthusiasm surrounding European manga production.
During the days of the fair, an extremely high demand was recorded for the Special Edisshon of Manga Issho n. 1. This exclusive volume, created for Lucca Comics & Games 2025, featured a stunning collaborative cover that brought together the characters from all the Italian stories published in MANGA ISSHO. The cover was conceived as a tribute to the solid partnership between Star Comics and Lucca Comics & Games, nodding to the special editions of Japanese magazines.
The presence of MANGA ISSHO at Lucca Comics & Games was enriched by dedicated events: the Isshowcase and the IsshoLab. The former offered the public a moment of meeting and in-depth discussion with authors and artists, who shared interesting details about their work and participated in joint drawing sessions, while the latter involved the analysis of the manga adaptation of Giovanni Verga’s novella, “Rosso Malpelo”. Additionally, during the MANGA ISSHO X ANIMECLICK panel, the magazine’s authors and the AnimeClick.it staff collectively summarized the project’s progress, the results achieved, and its future perspectives.
The entire event was a magnificent opportunity to host and celebrate so many European authors in the splendid setting of Lucca, which welcomes thousands of visitors every year. The editorial dream of Manga Issho continues with renewed vigor!
