Rosso Malpelo

“Malpelo was called like that because he had red hair; and he had red hair because he was a mischievous and wicked boy.” The life of Malpelo, a young Sicilian miner, is marked by an absurd superstition that draws the animosity and hostility of adults toward him, to the point that he convinces himself he truly is a bad person. Will anything change when it falls to him to take care of a new recruit? Loosely inspired by the short story by Giovanni Verga.
