
Biography
Toni Caballero (Valencia, 1991) is a professional manga illustrator and artist. After completing a Postgraduate Degree in Illustration at ESAT in Valencia, he began working tirelessly in the comic industry, becoming a finalist in the Norma Editorial manga contest on four separate occasions. He has also worked as an illustrator for various cultural events and brands, including Fnac, Heroes Comic Con, and Panini Comics.
His realistic yet pop-inspired style has earned him several awards from the SMA (Coamix Inc./North Stars Pictures) in Japan.
In 2020, alongside Valencian writer Sergio Hernández, he began publishing Backhome in Planeta Manga, a gripping thriller with echoes of Oku Hiroya and Kengo Hanazawa’s styles. Just a year later, the duo received the Diafebús Prize for Young Adult Fiction for their work El Diari de Laia. Another of his notable works is Reflejos del Futuro, published in Planeta Manga with writer Blanca Mira. In 2022, Backhome was released in volume format, marking the start of a new stage in his career with Planeta Cómic. He also co-published the graphic novel I Am Legend with Sergio Hernández.
He is a regular contributor to Planeta Manga and Manga Issho.
