MANGA ISSHO ?!

Altraverse, Planeta Cómic, Kana, and Star Comics have announced MANGA ISSHO : a new European manga magazine that aims to make a significant impact by blending the manga cultures of Italy, France, Spain, and Germany.

Lucca, Italy, October 30, 2024 – An exciting new chapter in the history of European manga culture is about to begin: MANGA ISSHO, an innovative manga magazine that brings together the creative talents of four renowned European publishers, has been announced. It will be released quarterly starting in March 2025, delighting manga fans across Europe. The magazine will be published simultaneously in the participating countries in their respective national languages.

MANGA ISSHO is the outcome of a close collaboration among manga publishers altraverse (Germany), Kana (France and Belgium), Planeta Cómic (Spain), and Star Comics (Italy). The magazine embodies cross-border cooperation among leading European manga publishers and showcases the diversity and creative potential of the European manga scene.

In each issue of MANGA ISSHO, readers will dive into an exciting selection of chapters from various new manga stories created in participating countries. This unique blend makes the magazine a platform for cultural exchange and a chance to discover thrilling new tales from across Europe.

MANGA ISSHO brings together not only the best manga created in Europe but also the most passionate artists and authors who share their visions and stories. Their goal is to forge a new connection between themselves and all manga enthusiasts across Europe,” says the editorial committee, which includes Joachim Kaps (altraverse), Timothée Guedon (Kana), Alexandra Pierres (Planeta Cómic), and Cristian Posocco (Star Comics). “This collaboration—reflected in the title, as ‘Issho’ means ‘together’ in Japanese—highlights Europe’s creative potential and the diversity of manga production on our continent.”

The first issue of MANGA ISSHO is an exciting moment for fans and collectors alike. The magazine has been available since the end of March 2025 and was previewed at the Leipzig Book Fair, which took place from March 27 to 30, 2025, in Germany.

With a launch price of €4.90 for over 300 pages in a 165×240 mm format, the first issue of MANGA ISSHO is especially appealing to manga fans. Starting with the second issue, the price will increase to €6.90. The magazine will be available simultaneously in all four countries, in bookstores, specialty manga and comic shops, as well as online through e-commerce sites.
